But after years of succumbing to this frustration, we are lucky to find that the people behind our great technological advancements have caught up and are now creating them without the wires. The Independence You’ve Been Looking For
One of the major wireless headphone benefits is the allowance of mobility and freedom from any attached contraptions. Similar to a Bluetooth that allows freedom and helps you avoid the awkwardness of finding places to set your phone, the wireless headphone allows you often needed independence from your Ipod or MP3 player – and especially from an immobile home stereo system.
No More Tangles
Another one of many benefits of the wireless option is not having a cord to get tangled up in. Just the other, day I took it upon myself to plug my traditional wire headphones into my computer speakers to avoid blowing holes in the walls with the bass-driven music I was about to play. They’re of a good quality so I was more than pleased with how well the music sounded. I danced in my seat, having my own fabulous party, until the phone rang. Since it was behind me and I did not want to get up from my chair, I decided to roll across the floor to the where it was. In rolling across the floor, I rolled over the wire.
At first I thought nothing of it, quickly ending my phone call to get back to my music. But when I rolled back, I saw that the wire had been caught in the wheel – so much so that it was pulling the wire, and my head, toward the wheel. In fear that I was annihilating my precious wire, I managed to remove my head from my tangled masterpiece, and had to flip the chair on its side to unravel the wire from the covered wheel, which took forever. After finally resolving the issue, I wrapped the wire up and stored it in my lap, losing any small bit of mobility I once had, which was a bummer. The bonus to the bummer, however, was that it inspired me to finally evolve and move on to something wireless, which is a great thing.
Adaptability
The number of wireless headphone benefits has skyrocketed with all of the new technological advancements that continue to help them improve. One of these benefits stands out above the others, and that is their adaptability. As mentioned before, with many manufacturers, the creation of headphones with no wire pioneered a landslide of additional features, one of which being the ability to connect them to almost anything, including your television – and for some models, even your Xbox. Having the flexibility to attach them to a variety of electronics makes them more useful to us as consumers, and even provides us with options we may have never considered before.
I’m sure as time evolves so will technology, providing even more wireless headphone benefits. Since we’ve already transcended normalcy and landed on extraordinariness, it’s hard to imagine what improvements can be made. But science sees no limits, and I guess we shouldn’t either. Because it is highly possible that in 10 years we’ll be finished highlighting wireless headphone benefits and instead be looking at flying car benefits – the possibilities are endless!
Wireless headphones come with a transmitter base which plugs into the source of audios while the headphone set comes with a built in radio amplifier and a receiver. The nomenclature wireless is reserved for sets operating on Infrared while the cordless is for ones which operate on radio waves. Infrared limits the distance one can move with wireless headphones.
Usually, it not possible to move farther then a few meters or go to another room. Cordless headphones allow a better range of movement. When you go to buy a wireless headphone, you should look for wireless headphones which have an on board volume control. This is helpful as you will not need to return to the base unit or audio source to control volume every time. Most wireless headphones are Dolby enabled. This technology is not available in simple headphones which work on cords. Dolby technology gives far better sound quality then common headphones.
