I have heard many great things about it from various sources and I figured it was about time to search the truth out about it. Is it worth the money? How good is it? Read further and you will discover the answers about that and if these are really worth you spending you’re hard earned money on.
Today’s music is getting much more high tech and for you to get the most out of it you will need to upgrade your headphones to get your tunes to sound as good as they were meant to be. Many people have been telling me about the Audio Technica ATH-M2X mid-size open back headphones and how well they work and sound so I thought we would take a closer look at them and see if they do make a real difference in our listening pleasure. Out of the box the first thing I notice is these are lightweight and well constructed. I do not know about you, but I like lightweight headphones over the bulky ones as they seem to work better for me. Now do not get me wrong sometimes bulky is a good idea, but not in this instance. The overall appearance of these is pleasing to the eyes and it had a good amount of padding as well which I like. On the comfort level side they were not bad at all. Much better than I thought for a set of mid-size headphones. I was able to wear these for hours without any discomfort so that was something that impressed me a lot. No one likes to sit for hours with a pair on that you have to keep adjusting because they are too tight and hurting your ears. The fit on these were very good and you should like them a lot.
Music of today is much different than it was said just a few years ago. To get the most out of it you must have a set of headphones that brings it out. These high-performance drivers and low-mass diaphragms are design to handle the power that today’s consumers seem to put a set of headphones through. Engineered for digital program materials the Audio Technica ATH-M2X mid-size open back headphones give some outstanding sound that you will not believe. It seems that the bass sounds are much clearer and the other tones can be heard as well. This does not happen with every set of headphones I have ever had so this really impressed me a lot. The sound quality is top notch and your tunes will sound like nothing you have ever heard before which is a very good thing. 3.5mm plug with 1/4 inch adapter is also included to make sure you can use it for almost any application that you may need.
After using this model for a few hours I was scared to see what a set of this quality would run and to my dismay it was very affordable. In fact you will not get sticker shock with this set of headphones, but it will put a smile on your face as these are a very low entry level price that anyone can afford which just lends to the value of this pair.
A quick overview of the Audio Technica ATH-M2X mid-size open back headphones shows you that this model is very affordable to start out with which is very important to consumers who do not want to spend a lot of money. Sound quality is always important especially if you want your tunes to sound very good. This model has outstanding sound that will impress you no matter what type of music you put on. Listening to music is probably one thing more of us do when we have free time than any other time. I have heard many things about this model and today we are going to take an in depth look at these. One of the first things that I noticed about this model is how these are constructed. Many times people never really take a good look at the design and how well something is made, but I do. This model is very well made and I was impressed at the design as well. The open air design delivers amazing comfort which is something that more people look at than ever before. It comes with comfortable velvet ear pads which means you will be able to wear these for a long time without any discomfort at all. I was very impressed at how well the sound came from these no matter what type of music was played. This is something that not every set of headphones can claim which in my opinion is very important.
The Audio Technica Ath-AD300 Open-Air Dynamic Audiophile headphones have done two things that I found are becoming a major reason people buy headphones these days. The first is many companies are realizing that consumers hate very short cords and now are giving you plenty of cord so you can move around a little. Price determines many different things and this model is very affordable model that is a solid performer. The more money an average consumer can save the more chances he will purchase an item. This model will not break your bank and you will be very surprised at how affordable it really is.
Overall the Audio Technica Ath-AD300 Open-Air Dynamic Audiophile headphone stands well above the crowd on many different fronts. Price is always a factor when you talk about headphones and this model is very affordable and well within everyone’s reach which is something that many people look very close at. Another thing that I really like about this model as well is the sound quality. When listening to tunes you want the best sound quality possible and I can tell you the sound coming from this is very good. You will have a great bass sound throughout the musical spectrum that you will fall in love with and enjoy every time you listen to your tunes.

Experience Professional Sound Quality with Studio Monitor Headphones
Posted on August 29th, 2008 No comments
As a professional music maker or audio expert, you know how important it is to have quality sound devices for your studio, including stereo components and audio technology. You know that if you don’t have the best equipment in use, the quality of the product you are creating may not be up to par. So when you are thinking of purchasing studio monitor headphones, you know that you must find some that can pick up every nuance that a standard set may not allow you to hear. In this article, we will look at some headsets that are known for offering perfection when used in a session. So if you’re interested in learning more, read on!Why Great Quality is So Important While Recording
I’m sure I don’t have to tell you how important it is to have high-level professional equipment in any and all recording sessions. If the person you are recording is to be able to hear the music they are singing to – or the voice-over artist is to hear their scene approaching – you have to have great studio monitor headphones on their ears so they won’t miss their cues. Even more important is your ability as the producer to hear any issues or sounds that shouldn’t be there before you think about creating a final mix. It is for this reason that getting your hands on the right headset is vital.
What Studio Monitor Headphones Are Available?
Now that we’ve cleared up why it is important to get a professional headset for your recording environment, now let’s look at some brands and models that can make your recording experience a stellar one.
Sony MDR-V700DJ DJ Style
Sony has a great reputation for putting out high-quality headsets at a reasonable price, so of course their DJ style sets are going to come highly-recommended as well. This particular headset has a lot of features that come in handy for those who spend most of their time in or near a recording booth. They have reversible swivel earcups, remix applications that work great for single-sided monitoring, an auto-return swivel mechanism that snaps the earcups back to standard listening positions when needed, and a folding design for easy storage.
But the features don’t end there. With these studio monitor headphones, you can also look forward to advanced engineering for exceptionally clear sound, 3,000 mW power handling for the most stringent applications at very high output levels, Neodymium magnets that create more magnetic energy per ounce than other specially-designed models, and 50 mm drivers for a deep bass response.
As for comfort, they offer a great supra-aural design (sitting atop your ears) with light cushion earcups that allow you to listen to sessions for hours on end without any added pressure to your ears. As a matter of fact, many say they are so lightweight that they forget they even have them on. In addition, they come with a detachable, single-sided wire that lets you listen at a distance of up to 10 feet from your source, and the oxygen-free copper design creates maximum conductivity with little to no noise.
Sennheiser EH2200
Sennheiser is a name that you know you can trust in the world of audio technology. So it’s no wonder that their EH2200 studio monitor headphones come highly recommended by the experts. They come packed with tons of features, including a closed, circumaural design that protects listeners from ambient (acoustic) noises. In addition, you can look forward to a superb sound quality and excellent bass.
Some other features include Duofol technology that fuses two diaphragm materials together to eliminate standing waves, neodymium transducer magnets for extremely fast transient response, and an award-winning ergonomic design that features a closed-ear, padded, open-back format for excellent comfort and superior sound quality, all in a lightweight package.
Finally, with these headphones, you can take advantage of replaceable parts that support long-term use, a detachable 10-foot, single-sided, Kevlar-reinforced OFC cable with a .125 inch minijack, and a .25 inch adapter. And if for some reason your headset malfunctions, it comes with a 2-year warranty.
Picking out the right studio monitor headphones can make the difference between having a great recording session, and producing something that turns out to be mediocre. Extensive research in audio magazines, as well as online electronics reviews can help you to narrow down your selection significantly. But listening to a variety of studio monitor headphones in person is also necessary. This way, you can have the expertise and personal experience backing the final decision you make on which pair will be best for your studio environment.

Grado Labs iGrado Headphones Different, But Still Good
Posted on April 22nd, 2008 No comments
Grado headphones have a reputation that has built over time and that is quality headphones at a premium price. Most of their headphones retail from 70-1,000 dollars so when this lower end iGrado set of headphones was introduced I was really interested to see where the company was going with this type of release. Most of the time you never really know what you’re going to get, but read further and you can discover all about the iGrado and if it merits a purchase from you.Headphones from Grado are known for their exceptional quality and the bulky retro design that seem to be a real hit with consumers even though many carry a very high price tag. Now the iGrado though goes on the opposite end of the spectrum and is a street style low-end type of headphone, which is radically different from anything this company has produced in a very long time. The iGrado lacks the funky look that so many of their products, but that does not mean that this set of headphones is not worth considering by any stretch of the imagination. The plastic headband fits around the back of your neck and over the tops of your ears. Its ear cups have flat pads that sit against your ears and for the most part, they do fit well. These are much thinner than the traditional Grado headphones that I am use to, but still a nice touch indeed. It will take a little while to get use to these, because I am use to the standard retro design that Grado is famous for, but I still like these just the same.
This model is available in black or white hues and is very comfortable to wear even after hours of use. It will take people some time to get use to, as these are not the same type as most people are use to. The iGrado uses the same drivers as the popular SR60′s which is one of the best headphones in the sub-$100 range. The ear cups though are somewhat smaller on this model and the sound is much different than the SR60′s. Sound quality wise this model is a little different from most Grado headphones so you must be ready for that. People need to remember that this is a low-end entry into the headphone market and you are not going to get numb blowing sound like you are use too. The iGrado does produce very good sound, but not like you expect from Grado headphones. Overall, this set of headphones produces good sound for the low-end user. Most people will love these headphones as you get the Grado name with a very low cost so that is something that you must look at. Are these as great as the SR60′s? No, but remember you are not spending that kind of money either so you must consider that as well. The old adage fits here perfect you get what you pay for and what your get is a good set of headphones at a low price.
Overall impressions of the iGrado is they are just what they were designed for the low-end market. When you are paying a low-end price you really cannot expect anything else, but that. People sometimes forget this and think they deserve much more for the money. It is true we have been spoiled by Grado and some of the set of headphones they have issued over the years. This model is just a low-end product that does a very good job and gives you good sound quality at a very fair price. Most people may not like these, but for me they gave me everything I expected so I was not disappointed one bit. Grado will probably be issuing more low-end products in the future, but for now, this is not a bad start for a company who is known for high-end headphones. If you’re looking for your first pair of headphones this is a good place to start.
This iGrado does have some minor problems, but since it is on the low-end price wise these complaints can really not be justify. For what you pay for these, the sound quality is very good and the comfort is very good. Do not let these pass you by if you’re looking to add another set of headphones to your collection. Not to many times will you be able to purchase a set of Grado headphones for a price like this too often that is for sure.
