The Lightweight Audio Technica ATH-P5
Posted on November 12th, 2008 No commentsIt seems lightweight headphones have really grown a following ever since the iPod and other portable audio devices became so popular. More and more companies are making this style of models, but one has really caught my eye and that is the Audio Technica ATH-P5 lightweight open-back headphone. I have read some god things about this model and thought I would try them out and see how well they do perform. I love my personal audio equipment and figured it would be a good test to try it on a variety of devices. Read further and discover what I learn about it and its performance on various devices as well. You may be surprised at the results I got.
With iPods being all the rage these days along with those high-end MP3 players I figured that would be a great place to start with the Audio Technica ATH-P5 lightweight open-back headphone. Out of the box these are a very lightweight set of headphones which in my opinion is perfect for the iPod and other electronic devices as well. I decided to take a jog and see how well they fit as many times I have had trouble in the past with headphones of this type falling off, being uncomfortable, or just a plain hassle to wear. After a few miles I was pleasantly surprised at how comfortable these were. They gave me a very good fit and were not too tight, but it was not too loose either. The sound quality was also something that I was very impressed with as well. The hi-energy neodymium magnets give you improved transient response to give you better sound throughout the musical spectrum. Overall the sound quality was excellent with plenty of bass and other tones that I found very enjoyable. In the time I used it jogging and with my iPod I really had no complain at all. It seems to be a very solid performer.
Now if you are like me you want a product that can be used for more than just one job. This saves on money as you do not have to buy a separate headphone for each application that you may have. One of my favorite things to do is play video games and I wanted to give these a workout as well on that part of it and see how they performed. Video games have really advanced in the last few years and the sound quality of the games is top notch anymore so I wanted to see how well these sounded. After a few hours of playing games with them on I was very impressed with the overall sound quality of these and would recommend them for that as well. Other applications that these seem to work well for me were computers and home stereo systems as well. All in all the tests on the various music applications I used this model came through with flying colors.
One of the things I also look at is price as well. The Audio Technica ATH-P5 lightweight open-back headphone is very affordable as well which makes perfect sense for a purchase of this product. No worries about this one breaking your bank account as it is well within the reach of everyone which is very important to consumers in today’s marketplace.
A quick overview does show a few things that stand out about the Audio Technica ATH-P5 lightweight open-back headphone. The first is the many different applications this model can be used for. You will not have to buy a different model anymore as you can use this one for many different ones which in the long run saves you a lot of money. Second thing that I really like about this model is how comfortable they are and a great fit they also have. In today’s world comfort is king and these are that and also very well constructed as well. You will be able to wear these for hours without any discomfort which is a big plus if you ask me.
Sound quality is something people really pay close attention to and this has very good sound quality. For an open-back set of headphones I was really impressed at the sounds it produced and would recommend it to anyone who love plenty of bass and other tones as well. If you have portable devices that you use often and are looking for an affordable upgrade than you cannot go wrong with the Audio Technica ATH-P5 lightweight open-back headphone as it gives you a great deal for the money.
