ILuv i301 Earphones for Your iPods
Posted on June 9th, 2008 No commentsILuv is a company that you really do not hear a lot from, but that does not mean they do not produce top-notch products because they do. Most people who have bought their products in the past can tell you they are very good. When I seen the i301 earphones I decided that I would try a pair since I wanted a replacement for my factory iPod earphones anyway. Read further and see how well they compared to others in the marketplace.
Earphones are one of my favorites for couple of different reasons. One of the main reasons is that they are very portable and easy to carry anywhere you want to go. Most people do not realize that ear buds are one of the most popular headphones around and some of the easiest to use as well. I have some iLuv headphones and they have all been very good so I thought I would give these a test and see how they work out. One of the first things about iLuv headphones you will notice is the quality construction that they put into their products. Most companies do not spend enough time on the construction end but iLuv does a good job on that end of it. The iLuv i301 are well made and they seem very durable. The fit you will get with these is very good and is very comfortable. These in-ear earphones seem to be fine even if you wear them for a very long time. You also get two extra sets of replacement ear-tips to give you a more custom fit. Probably the hardest part of in-ear headphones is getting a custom fit. More companies are giving you extra sleeves in a variety of sizes so you can get the fit that you need.
One of my favorite things about iLuv headphones is the great sound that you get from their products and the i301 earphones are no different. These sound very good and will give you a great sound throughout the musical scale. Bass sound is very good and a good mixture of tones will give you some great sounds. Most of iLuv headphones give great sound and this one is no different. You will notice a different sound than what you get from most headphones, but it is a sound I really do like. An inline volume control is something else that lets you customize your music even more. High performance speakers for extended frequency range with lower distortion and high power handling is something you will get with the iLuv301 earphones. These are perfect for digital devices such as iPod, MP3, and CD players. This is one of the big advantages of the i301 is that it has many different applications that it can be used for. This will save you money, as you will not have to buy a set of headphones for every different application that you have in your home.
Overall, the iLuv301 has many great things going for it that warrant you buying this model. First of all these have a good fit and seem to give no long term effects even if they are left in four hours. Many times in-ear headphones will hurt my ears, but this pair was just perfect as far as it goes. Sound is something that many of us worry about, but this pair of iLuv conqueror that problem as well. You will get clear crisp sound through a variety of different ranges that you will like. No matter what type of music you pump through it only clear concise sound seems to come out. Now not every in-ear headphone can proclaim that. Over the years, I have had many different types of iLuv products and this is one of the best that I have seen to date. The low cost is just another plus that you will enjoy with these.
The iLuv301 in-ear headphones are perfect if you another set for your iPod, MP3 player, or CD player. They are very portable and you can take them wherever you may go. Most people are on the go so these are perfect for the traveler or just the local commuter. Even first time users will find out that these are very good and should be one of the first ones you purchase. Grab these, as you will be hard pressed to find a set of headphones that offer more at such a great price. You also get the iLuv nameplate which every year seems to do nothing but get better.

Getting the Most from Your PC with Sennheiser PC150
Posted on June 9th, 2008 No commentsIt is hard to believe that Sennheiser has been around for over 60 years making top-notch headphones but they have. In that time, they have become one of the best manufacturers of audio equipment and continue to be. The PC150 is actually geared to the gamer and this set is going to be put to the test because gamers are critical to products that just do not get the job done. Read further and see if these pass the test or get shot down by poor performance.
One of the biggest selling points for most people will be they do have a lower price than there cousin the PC165′s which by the way was a very good product from Sennheiser. Looking at the Sennheiser PC150, they do look similar and we would expect much of the same performance was probably put into them as well. Video games are predicated on great sounds and action and that was the first test we were going to put these through. With today’s technology video games seem to have music and sounds that will really put headphones to the test. These produce crisp sounds with no problems at all. It really did not matter what game we play throughout the spectrum of volumes it seem to do a very good job which really was not a surprise since it was a Sennheiser headphone anyway. The next thing up is how well it would handle a variety of music. We know that it seems to handle video games, but what if we wanted to us it for other applications. How will it be able to handle it? Let us take a look and see what it can do.
I decided that we would try a variety of music from blues to rap and country so we could see how well it would sound going through all three of these genres. Well it did a very good job handling the music and giving us earthly tones and good and mid level sounds through the music spectrum. Sometimes computer headphones breakdown, but these seem to be able to handle it with little problems at all. High quality sound reproduction is what you will get from these and that is another quality that you can trace back to Sennheiser, as they do know what they are doing. Comfort is another thing that gamers worry a lot about as they can sit for hours in front of a computer playing their favorite game without any type of a break. This model felt very comfortable and I really had no problem with the time I wore them. Soft ear pods helps make these feel great and most people I think will be surprise at how comfortable they really are.
The only real drawback that I have seen so far is a flimsy thin cable. I wish it was a little thicker and better made, but it works fine and does an excellent job. I am just so use to the regular cable that most of these headphones come with this was a shock departure for me. Like I said it works fine and gave me no trouble.
In today’s world of gaming one thing that they want is a noise canceling microphone so they can interact against other players online. This is built in to the Sennheiser PC150 and works extremely well. An inline volume controller with on/off microphone switch is a nice added touch as well. Most people will compare these to the PC165, which really is not fair, but the comparison will happen. The 165′s will set you back more and do have some added features, but these will do the job for the gamer who wants an inexpensive set of headphones that will perform year after year. Most gamers are in the need of some low cost alternatives and this one will fit that mode.
Overall, we must give them our approval as they work well and they are comfortable to wear for long-time use. It today’s worlds it is getting tougher to find a lower price set of headphones for your gaming needs. Luckily for gamers along came the Sennheiser PC150 and they have an alternative to other models that usually cost a lot more. Now if you are not a gamer do not let that stop you from purchasing these either. These work well for anyone who is on the computer for long hours listening to music, pod casts or just doing business. Once you try these, you will see why the PC150 is something that you should have around even if it is only for casual use.
