Buying Headphones on a Budget It Can Be Done
Posted on May 22nd, 2008 No comments
With prices for headphones always on the rise, it seems buying them on a budget is something more of us are doing on a daily basis. Headphone quality is something that we need to look close at when we are on a budget as well. This is why I have compiled a list of headphones for people who are on a budget, but still want to get a quality unit to use. Read further and discover the budget headphones that I found that were really god buys for consumers.Buying headphones on a budget can be tough sometimes because we always will want to go over that budget and this is where the problems lie. If we stick to a set amount of money of a certain product than we will be okay. It is when we get away from that we run into trouble. We will start first with the low-end budget. We have found some great options for people who are looking towards this group of headphones. The Koss UR 20 is a good set of sealed headphones that are good for portable players and laptop computers. These are solid performers.
Other low-end budget models you may want to consider is the Sennheiser PMX 40 as these neckband type headphones are consistent performers that will give you great sound on a very low budget. Another great option to consider is the Koss Sports pro as this sound very good and is very comfortable to wear even after long periods of time.
As we head to the mid-range budget, many models exist in this market as it is one of more popular markets. You will have many good models to choose from in this group. Let us look at some of these top performers. Without a doubt, you will want to have the Sennheiser PMX 100 on your list of headphones. This unit combines great sounds with a comfortable fit. Many people consider this the best set of headphones that Sennheiser has ever made. Once you use them, you will see why also. Grado iGrado Black is another middle of the road priced product that you should also consider. The one thing that you know from a Grado product is your going to get an outstanding performing product. This company takes great pride in everything they make and it shows up when they release something. The iGrado Black is a sweet sound set of headphones that are also very comfortable to wear. You get plenty of bass and tones that will take your music listening to another level.
On the high range as far as budget goes you have a vast array of products that will definitely perform and very well. Some of those are the Sennheiser RS 130 wireless headphones. These make it easy for you to walk around without cords. They have surround sound feature as well and also let you get more done in less time as well. Another great option in this budget end is the Grado SR 125. This model has gotten very good reviews and for good reason it is a solid performer that will definitely do the job for you. It has plenty of sound from bass to nice subtle tones. It handles all types of music equally well so that will not be an issue either.
On the very high end, the selection is narrowed down, but that does not mean quality does not exist here. Many people consider the Grado RS 1 the best headphone ever made to date. Now those are big compliments and one hour of using these headphones, you can tell why people say that. These are solid performers and give you outstanding music through the musical spectrum like very few can. Another good choice is the Denon AH-D5000 as this is one of the top sealed headphones on the market today. These are very comfortable to wear and have a very nice sound to them as well. All you need to do with these is plug them in and enjoy the music. They are that good.
As you can see, there are many different options depending on the type of budget you are working with. Of course, the more you can spend the better product you will get. Do not over look some of the lower price models though as they are very good products as well. If you’re on a budget check out some of the options, I gave you above. Always look over several models before making a purchase and ask plenty of questions before you buy.

Sennhesier headphonesAre you in the market for a new pair of headphones? Have you been reading some of the reviews? Do you keep coming up with the brand name Sennhesier headphones? Do you wonder why?

Sure, it may be a brand that does a lot of advertising. Sure, it may be a well known brand. But sometimes it may not be well known. But the main fact is that if a brand is making the review lists, especially those good review lists time and time again, then the brand name is definitely a brand name that you can be assured will work not only properly but probably will exceed your expectations, case in point the brand name of Sennhesier and their headphones.

Exactly what are Noise Cancelling headphones and why are they used?
Posted on May 18th, 2008 No commentsNoise cancelling headphones
If you are on the market for a new pair of headphones, you may have heard the term noise cancelling headphones and wondered what they are. To put it simply, these are a special type of headphones that helps to reduce unwanted ambient sounds or acoustic noise. This makes the music or other sounds you are listening to much clearer. But maybe you thought that was what all headphones did.
Noise cancelling headphones are special. They work through a means of what is sometimes called active noise control. Put simply, this involves using a microphone and placing it near the ear. Then electronic circuitry within the headphones begins working to create an anti noise sound wave while at the same time allowing the opposite polarity of the sound wave to arrive at the microphone. This causes a destructive interference that cancels out any noise within the enclosed space of the headphones.
This essentially means that by wearing such headphones you do not have to worry about outside noises interrupting you from hearing whatever it is that you choose to hear via your headphone set. You also can enjoy listening to your headphones at normal volume levels. You do not have to turn up the volume to drown out any outside noises. This is the one reason why noise cancelling headphones are a popular choice for people when traveling on buses, subways and even on airplanes.
If you are wondering about the origin of how these noise cancelling headphones were first used and developed you will have to go back to the 1950′s. Lawrence J. Fogel helped to invent some of the first noise cancelling headphones to help cancel out the loud noises in the cockpits of both airplanes and helicopters.
Then in 1978, Dr. Amar Bose (Of Canada and also the founder of the Bose Company) was traveling aboard an airplane on an international flight. He was given a pair of headphones and was not satisfied with their performance. He couldn’t hear over the loud engine noises as well as the other noises of the plane.
Not forgetting about this experience, he spent the next decade trying to perfect a set of headphones that could cancel out noises properly. Finally, satisfied at what he created he begins to mass produce his own brand of Bose noise cancelling headsets. Now these types of headsets are made by many different brands and companies.
There are many uses for owning and using a pair of noise cancelling headphones, beyond just wearing them during airplane travel such as:
Listening to your favorite music at home, even when your husband is mowing the lawn outside.
When working in a crowded or noisy office, especially if you have to give complete attention to your work.
While jogging and wanting to listen to music or even an audio book player while you are on a busy city street, near a construction or highway improvement site.
While trying to listen and study audio tapes, especially when learning a foreign language and you are in a busy, noisy and possibly crowded area.
If you have a house full of children, especially teenagers (Of course make sure someone else is tending to the needs of the little ones).
Listening to your movies, music or even sports on your own home theater system. The noise cancelling headphones are the last addition to make any home theater system perfect.
Listening and watching HDTV for perfect performance and quality sound
Listening and watching Blue Ray Videos for perfect performance and quality sound.
Listening to your own MP3 tracks everywhere and anywhere you can.
Cutting off the noise of a loud mower or other machinery while you work (Sometimes the noise can be disturbing and the sound of music could make your work flow better).
Drowning out the sound of other people’s crying babies in stores, doctor’s offices or even in your own front yard during the summer months when you want to enjoy the outside in peace and quiet.
As for the consumers who are hard to please, they have no worries. They can easily find a pair of noise cancelling headphones that will fit their needs, their budget and their style preference. They come in many light weight styles. They come in wireless styles and they even come in some choice of color range, if you are sick of the basic black look.
Most noise cancelling headphones also come with very comfortable ear buds or padded earphones.
Are noises disturbing you when you are listening to your favorite music, trying to concentrate at work or when you are out jogging? Would you like your home theater system to have an even better quality sound experience?
Could a pair of noise cancelling headphones be just what you need?

The Sennheiser RS 110 is a great model to start with. The reason I tell people to start here you will be able to see where you’re at and if you really like wireless headphones. These sound good and are very comfortable to wear even for long periods of time. They are very affordable and a very good starter model especially if you’re not sure where you want to start at as far as wireless headphones goes.

This set of headphones is considered one of the better models this company has made. This set of wireless headphones is very comfortable to wear with some outstanding sounds that you will love. The quality construction is also something we like about this model along with a low price makes this a winner in our book.
The Sennheiser RS 130 is a step up from the RS 120 and you will definitely notice that. You get a very well constructed set of wireless headphones with many great features as well. The first thing you will notice about these is when you put them on your head how comfortable they are. They feel great and do not worry it does not end there. The sound quality is excellent. You will have plenty of bass sounds along with a good mixture of tones no matter what type of music you put on.
