Through the years if you ask anyone who has bought a number of Sony headphones they will tell you the MDR-V6 was one of the best pair ever made. In fact, many people still swear by them today. This is why the MDR-7509HD is as important as they look to build on that model and take users to a different realm. Did they accomplish this or not? Read further and you may be surprised by the answer to that question and see how well these really perform.
Sony’s MDR-7509HD on first glance do look very nice and have a higher end price so I was expecting a lot from this set of headphones and on first glance they do not look disappointing. One thing I do like is the nice satin box they will come in and instructions to replace parts if they ever need replacing which I do not see there being a need for that though. First feel and you will notice the heavy padding in the ear cups and the headband, which is a nice touch since I will be using this lot. This model was designed to reflect on better more accurate sounds thus the frequency response of 80 kHz was added to this model. Sony headphones for a number of years have tried to really make inroads in the HD market end and this model is the one to help them reach that market. If first impressions are what they measure it by than they should do well it seems.
The 7509HD are circumaural type of headphones, which mean they fit totally around your ears. Many companies have tight fitting headphones, but these fit almost perfectly and let your ears breathe which is something I like a lot. The design makes the sounds reach your ears in a slow but steady pattern for more true sounds than ever before. The 7509HD can fold up and have a real nice feature that you rarely see on a more expensive model and that is the ability to rotate 180 degrees, which is handy for one ear DJ style listening if that is what you want to do. The one beef I do have with most headphones and even Sony sometimes forgets about is putting to short of a cord on. No worries here as you get plenty of cord to stretch out and move around a little which is nice. The also have to cord coiled so it also makes it look shorter than it really is and for the most part it is tangle free which is something that I really like.
One thing that you will want to remember about this set of headphones and that is where you plug them into. Many times if you plug them into inferior audio equipment, you will not get the sound quality you like. It actually will find all the imperfections in your audio equipment, which in my eyes is something I like. You definitely can tell these are of quality studio once they are plug into quality equipment. I plugged them into my cheap MP3 player and it was not great, but once it hit the home stereo it was a whole another story. The sounds that came from these were great and beyond my expectations. It really does not matter which type of music you put through it great sounds is what you will be getting. It is not heavy bass loaded either and you will get a good mixture of tones that usually is not present in most headphones you buy. If you like a variety of sounds than grab these.
You can put this model through all the tests and you will find out the same thing I did these perform very well and probably will be one of the big hits in the Sony lineup. With a price that most people can reach, look for this to be the new V6 of the headphone market. These are comfortable, light for their size and give you some great sounds. Most people tend not to look at these headphones for various reasons, but with this release, they will have to start looking now. These fold up and become very portable so you will be able to take them with you. Just remember they do not work well on inferior equipment so have good equipment and you will hear sounds that you never knew existed before. These can compete with anything out on the market right now without having to word about anything.

People are always on the lookout for a product that produces awesome sound at a low-end price, but it is getting much tougher to find than ever before. Along though comes the JVC FX33B, which could definitely change the way you think about it. This set of headphones is very low-cost and has had some impressive reviews so far, but read a little further to see if it is as good as they say.
Most headphones that you test never produce the kind of sound quality you hope for so I really did not expect a lot from the FX33B. This binaural type headphone looks pretty normal like most others on the market so I did not really expect a lot. A gold plated plug though was a nice touch, which means you will get a good connection, which is something that you are always looking for. It has a response bandwidth of 8-23,000 Hz and sensitivity of 90 db/mW which is pretty much standard with other in this arena so nothing earth shattering to say the least. All the numbers you crunch looks like this should be just another normal set of headphones, but it is not. Once you put them on and listen, you will be able to tell what I am talking about.
The FX33B is geared to a market on the low-end who need a replacement for their ear buds and want to try something a little different than before. The first thing you will notice is a good fit into your ears. It seems it is getting harder to find a set of ear buds that have a good fit. These come with replaceable ear tips that make you getting a good fit much easier than you would imagine. Most people worry about how comfortable they will be and I had no comfort issues at all and I wore them for hours and felt no problems at all. Usually with these low-end sets of headphones comfort is an issue, but the JVC model has been able to make it a non-issue, which means this is just another great reason to buy this set of headphones.
Sound quality is something that I worry about when you talk about a low-end product, but trust me that will not be a problem at all with this model that is for sure. I got plenty of response from this model and if you love bass than this is definitely a set of headphones that you will want to purchase. More and more people love bass response so these will be right up there alley. As far as through the entire musical spectrum I felt these did a very good job with plenty of sound from the low range all the way up to higher ranges when needed. The sound quality was much better than I had anticipated so I must commend JVC on a job well done in that area.
Many people compare these to headphones costing much more and I do. These are very affordable and if you are looking for a new set of headphones, but do not want to spend a lot of money then the JVC FX33B is something that you should look into. You will get great sounds and a very comfortable pair of ear buds to wear. The main thing is even if you do tear them up they cost so little getting another pair will be no problem at all. They also block some of the outside noise, which is something I really like. It does not block out everything, which I do not expect it to, but it does block out some. For the price, it does a very good job in all aspects and should do well in the marketplace especially with a low-end price.
Overall, can you find a better sounding set of headphones? The answer is yes. Can you find a more comfortable set of headphones? The answer is yes to that as well. The thing the JVC FX33B brings you is something most set of headphones do not and that is a quality good sounding headphone at a very affordable price. No longer are you stuck with just one set of headphones for multiple applications. You can buy many different pairs, because the price is on the very low-end which makes it great for adults and kids alike. JVC has a winner with this model and if you need an extra set look no further than the FX33B.
