Things to think about when buying wireless headphones
There are things you should think about before you go and buy a pair of wireless headphones. Just like most things you plan on buying there will be some decisions on size and style you need to think about first. There is always something you always have to consider when shopping (prices, quality, etc) for anything.
First, things first. Before you go shopping, make a list of what your needs are. (Or if this is too much of a chore for you, at least mentally consider some of your needs and options)
For instance: What will you mainly be listening to on these headphones? Music? Books on tape? DVD's? This does matter.
You may need and want better quality headphones for playing music than you would if you were just going to use the headphones for video play.
Where do you plan on using these headphones the most? Will you be using them to travel by plane, train, bus, car or even a subway? Should you consider buying a pair that is also noise canceling wireless headphones? These types of headphones are both wireless (no wires to bug you) and will block out unwanted acoustic noises. This makes the sounds that come over the headphones much clearer.
Do you plan on using them with your new surround system? Did you know that the headphones that come with surround sound speaker system will make your speakers more enjoyable and make you feel more like you are in the middle of the movie itself? Just be sure the wireless headphones come with the system or at least matches up to it.
The frequency you need can be an issue, too. Remember the higher frequency level, the further you can walk away from the base unit and still get great audio
Now what kind of style do you want? Do you love the ear bud style? Do they hurt your ears? Do you prefer the full sized padded ear cup models? This is possibly the first decision you need to make. The positive things about ear buds are that they are light weight, they can block out external noises pretty well and they usually won't get in your way. The downside is that they can be uncomfortable to downright painful in your ear and there sound quality (especially the bass sound) isn't as good as most full sized ear cup models. What are the positives of the full sized ear cup models? You all ready know they have excellent sound quality. But did you also realize that they also are good at staying put when exercising? Two downsides of the full ear cup models are that they aren't so portable (means they can break more easily) and they can put pressure on the ears (which can result in headaches).
Finally before you go shopping for those wireless headphones know what you can spend (like with all things in life). Remember knowing what you want, plus being able to afford it is half the battle.
