Time to Upgrade Those Old Headphones
One of the things that many people hate to do is upgrade their headphones. Can you really blame them as there are so many different products on the market it's really hard to tell which set would be best to buy? Luckily we have found some excellent choices that won't break the bank and give you some great sounds from your newly purchased headphones.
Before you can decide what set of headphones that you want to purchase it will help for you to know a little background on the types of models out there so you will be able to make a more informed decision about them. Earbuds or earphones as some people call them sit inside your ear and these are usually used in iPods or MP3 players. Most of these are of low quality as factory equipped earphones aren't really that great to use. In- ear or in-canal are ones that actually enter the ear canal only a little bit and this type does give you some noise isolation and are popular among the younger crowd. Circumaural are the old style that many of you will easily remember as the bulky heavy padded headphone that your mom or dad used. Many times these are the choice of musicians and for studio work. Last but sure not least is the supra-aural which sits atop the ear and isn't real common. This though could change as Bose makes a few sets that are extremely well made. I look in the future for this type to start to get much more competition.
It's time to look at some of the ones that will help your music stand out and all very affordable. Sennheiser of course always produces some fine quality headphones and two different models made our list. They are fairly cheap price wise, but they perform very well. First up is the Sennheiser PMX-100 a supra-aural lightweight pair that is very low cost compared to other models and sounds very good? For the money you get a great name backing them, but most of all they sound very good and they will perform year after year. The second set will cost a little more but in the end you will like what your money bought you. The Sennheiser HD 280 Pro is one of the better sets for home studio use. It will block outside noise passively and the bass sound is very good. Music throughout the spectrum sounds very well too.
Where would be without including an iPod headphone upgrade. IPods are probably the hottest thing in the market right now and replacing those factory supplied headphones are very important to people. One set that will do the job and keep you coming back for more is Etymptic ER6i. These work well for IPods and the have high bass sounds for that daily commute or that exercise program your into. This in-ear model is one of the better ones on the market right now and performs like it should cost a lot more. These are just three of the headphones that will take your music to the next level. There are many more, but these three are a good starting point that is for sure.
