One of the things I really like is the battery design in the Sony NC40, as it does not have the standard rechargeable type like most companies go with. It goes with one AAA battery, which will give you around 40 hours of life. It is much easier to just carry spare batteries in my opinion than worry about trying to find a place to recharge a unit all the time. This is one change that I am glad Sony has done. Another great touch that I really like is you can use the unit with or without the noise cancellation feature to save battery life. Many companies will not let you do that so that is another plus on this model that I really do like. At times, you may not want to use the noise cancellation features so the switch lets you decide which something more companies is should do in the future. Sony has taken the lead it seems which is a nice touch.

Portability is another thing that is usually high on people's list and this model ranks right up there on that take as well. It comes with a compact carrying case so you will be able to take it with you wherever you may happen to go. Now let us see how well this model actually does perform and if it is worth what they are asking for it. Noise cancellation qualities on the NC40 are very good. In fact, I will admit they are much better than I thought they would be. Most units that I see only do an okay job, but this model did much better than I could have asked for so I was very impressed with the noise reduction that I seen from this model. Not the best I have ever tried, but definitely will do the job.

Sound quality no matter what anyone tells you is many times what will make and break a product. The Sony NC40 has outstanding quality especially for what you are paying for it. Many people have to remember your not paying top dollar for this pair of headphones and you still get outstanding quality sound. Low-end sound to high -end is something you will like with plenty of bass sound that will keep any type of music lover happy that is for sure.

Overall, the Sony NC40 will leave you with a very good impression. Sound quality is very good and the noise cancellation effects are not too bad either. If you are looking to test the waters with a set of headphones that will not break your bank account, but still give you the opportunity to enjoy your music than look no further than the NC40 from Sony. With a lower price than most, that it will go up against this model should find a niche with no problems at all. If you have never bought a set of headphones this one maybe a good place to start as you get many great things in one package. In today's market of headphones that is getting much tougher to do than ever before.
