Many Times you will hear Size Doesn't Matter And This Is One Case That Fits It Perfectly.Sony is a name that people have trusted over the years so when the Sony Fontopia MDR-EX51LP came out I figure I would give them a try and see if they were any good or just a waste of money. First of all I must say all the headphones I've ever had I can't say one pair has stood out from the crowd yet. The EX51LP is a nice model that fits somewhere in the middle of my favorite headphones. One of the first things which surprised me on this model is they actually worked pretty well for the price. These aren't one of the higher end low noise headphones from Sony, but they do a very good job of cutting noise out and making listening to either your audio books or MP3 players a lot easier.

First thing that means a lot to most people and I'm one of them is how they fit into your ear. Nothing is more irritating than putting a set of headphones only to have them fall out and having to reinsert them all the time. This set fit pretty well and falling out was minimal so that was a plus on this model. The EX51LP had a long enough cord so that really wasn't a problem either. Many times when you get small headphones like these they, either give you a shorter cord with the ability of extensions which I'm not a real fan of. Now as far as the sound coming from them they were good and what can be expected from what you are paying for them. Are they outstanding not really, but you can’t expect lot for a price tag of around $40?

Now many things have been written about this model EX51LP and from my experience they have performed exceeding well for the amount spent. Toss in three different ear plug types they should fit almost any ear out there. Are there any drawbacks to this set? Yes, just a few that you need to look out for. After a lot of use they tend to sometimes breakdown in different ways. One way is they sometimes lose sound in one of the earplugs. Not all the time, but sometimes it happens. The long cord can be caught on things and that is something that you also need to watch out for. Many times people wear them around work and this is where you should be careful. Besides those small things this set of earbud headphones is one of the best around for the money.

Sound quality is fine and the durability for the most part isn't bad considering the price. The Sony EX51LP is a very good entry level set of headphones that will replace your MP3 headphones and you will think you are in heaven. Don't be mistaken this isn't one of those high end headphones it's basic set that will do a quality job for you. Sony delivers with a good product at a fair price and the Sony nameplate. This has always been what Sony has done and it works well with this product. If you want better sound and clarity than a higher end product is what you need. If you want a no frills set of headphones that will last and do the job for you than look no further than the Sony EX51LP.
