It seems more and more companies are getting into the RF transmitters and Sony has been no stranger to it either. They now have a few models that use it and they seem to work really well. Today I want to check out the Sony MDR-RF970RK as it seems to be getting some good attention so let's see if it's really warranted or its hype. In today's world you never know until you look at them.

Looking over some of the finer things of the Sony 970 RK some interesting things appear which makes it sound like this model could do a very good job. First having a 22-hour battery life is something that is great. Most of the time they don't last that long so that's a big plus in my book. Second I like that is has a range of around 150 feet. That is very important especially if you’re going to be moving around your home and not just sitting still. Frequency response of 10hz-22khz is something that is good but not overwhelming and I do like the weight at only 7.68 ounces so we now these won't be heavy on our heads. After looking over the numbers all look in order so let's take a look at performance as that is always the key anyways on what it can do.

One of the best things about wireless headphones is the ability for you to move around your home or even backyard as long as you don't get too far from the transmitter. The Sony 970RK has automatic tuning and noise reduction to virtually wipe out any noise that may filter through the headphones. No one likes to hear static in a set of headphones and these do a great job of eliminating any outside interference. Sound quality is an issue that people have with any set of headphones, but you definitely won't have a problem with these. Clean crisp sound with a dynamic range is what you’re going to get with this set of headphones. If you like a wide range of sounds coming into your head than this is the headphone that you will want to buy. It has great low range to mid range sounds. Even the high range sounds very good for a set of wireless headphones.

Now of course sound quality is important, but what good will it does you if they are uncomfortable on your head. This is one set of headphones that you don't have that problem with. These have plenty of padding so you can wear these all day long if needed. Where others may hurt your ears after long use, these seem to work extremely well in that department. Now all in all I'm impressed with the Sony 970RK. It has sounds great when you pump music through it. It's very comfortable to wear hour after hour so you should be very happy with this purchase. Where many products have failed in different arena's this one, does well in many of those. The only thing that I would have liked to see is getting away from the pull on activation. I'm not a big fan of that even though it works well. Besides that though this is a set of Sony headphones that performs and will give you many hours of trouble-free operation and having it backed by them doesn't hurt at all either.
