Though they are no longer available the RS140 was considered a very high end model Wireless Headphone.If you’re a first time buyer or a long time lover of headphones like me than the Sennheiser RS140 is something that you will want to check out thoroughly. The RS140 is closely related to the RS130 and we all know how well that one performs. The question is how well does the RS140 stack up against the competition. Let's take a look and see how well it does against the RS130 and if it's really something that you need if you own something close to it.

The RS140 is designed for a little different market than the RS130 was and you can definitely tell that once you put them on. The RS130 performed very well in sound quality and clarity throughout a variety of ranges. The RS140 though seems to have a wider range and a lot better sound for some reason. It seems no matter what your listening to it sounds very good. Maybe Sennheiser planned it that way. I really don't know. Don't get me wrong the RS130 performs very well, but the RS140 beats it in sound quality just by a neck. Depending on the type of sound quality that you are looking for both RS models will do a fine job.

The RS140 just like the RS130 is very comfortable on your head and you should be able to wear it for hours without any discomfort at all. The range for the RS140 is around 150meters from the headset which is the same as the RS130. Toss in three different channels which make it easier in case you run into some interference in your home. Charging your headphones is as easy as laying them on top of your stand where the contacts touch the headphones and recharging can begin. The headphones take around 16 hours for a full charge and usually will last 22 hours between recharging. As long as you recharge them when not in use you should have no problem at all with them.

There are some things that I really like on the RS140 that stands out that you should know about. Surround sound is all the rage and it sounds at home on the RS140. One other nice little addition to the RS140 is volume control on each ear side makes it nice to adjust the volume just right for your hearing. Many type’s music and movies change that the volume can be annoying. This is a nice touch from Sennheiser that I like very much.

Overall the RS140 performs well in all areas just like its brother the RS130. Listening to movies or on the laptop it works very well. People sometimes forget that this set of wireless headphones doesn’t have to be used just to listen to music. The RS140 is very similar to the RS130 and then again very different. Some things on the RS140 aren't on the RS130 which makes it better. Either pair works very well, but if I had a choice go with the RS140. You will be very happy with your choice.
