Iphone Headphones Reviews
Iphone Headphones Getting Them To Work
Before you toss in your iPhone and headphones on that long journey, you better make sure they are compatible. You would think all headphones would work with your new iPhone, but that just isn’t the case. The problem is the jack is recessed several millimeters which make getting a connection for most headphones virtually impossible. There are alternatives that you have and we have put together a list of things that you can buy to make the iPhone compatible so you can listen to music or watch a video in private if you want.
Many after market headphone adapters have been released and were going to look at some of the options that you have at your disposal. The Belkin adapter was one of the first ones to come out and is rigid and retails for around 11.00, but hasn’t gotten very good reviews so you may want to stay away from that a little while. They will probably come out with better models in the future, but for now look elsewhere. One of my favorites is the RadTech Audio Extension cable. It comes in three inch and four inch sizes so you do have some play in it. Real short cables tend to break easily so these sizes are nice and being thin helps out of the look s far as I’m concerned. Price wise it’s in the 8.00 ballpark. It seems to work well and the sleek design is popular with many people. It’s just another option you can try.
Everyone knows the name Shure as they usually produce quality products. They have also entered the iPhone adapter fray with a high end model with a much longer cable that includes an inline microphone that sells for around 40.00. The reason for this is you can actually use the phone function while listening to your headphones. I don’t think the added cost is worth it. There are many other adapters out there and if I mention them all we probably wouldn’t have space. The ones above are probably the best choices, but know that there are plenty of other options you can try. In fact many people are using adapters from other products and they seem to be doing the job. If you look around you will probably be able to find one at a very low cost.
It’s amazing that Apple would not think about the problem with headphones when the unit was constructed. It just goes to show you that even the brightest minds don’t cover everything when they release a new product. The iPhone is a great instrument just know that you most likely are going to have to buy an adapter to get your set of headphones to work in it. It’s just the way it works sometimes. The biggest problem you have to worry about is a too stiff adapter can cause damage if you hit it against something. You don’t want it to damage the iPhone. I suggest going with the RadTech as its cord is movable and you will have less chance of anything getting damaged.
