Acoustic Research AW210-Wireless headphones At Its Best

Many companies seem to be making wireless headphones and that is all well and good, but sometimes I like to go outside the box and check out what's out there. This brings me to the Acoustic research AW210 2.1 wireless headphone set. Sometimes these companies that don't get the mainstream press produce some top notch equipment. Let's take a look and see how this AW210 stack up against others. We may find a gem here who knows.

I never really heard a lot about the Acoustic research AW210 2.1 wireless headphones, but I thought I would give them a whirl and see what they can do. First things I tend to look over are the specifications that way I know where I stand with a new set of headphones. One of the first things to check is the frequency response which is around 20hz-30khz which is about standard for most of these units. It also decodes Dolby, AC3, DTS, & AAC just to name a few. 12 hours of battery life is okay would like a little longer but wireless units eat batteries it's just a fact of life that I got use to. It does come with an AC adapter and will require three AAA batteries to run the unit.

Construction is one of the first things you will need to look at when you talk about a brand you know nothing really about. The AW210 is constructed well with an adjustable headband for a custom and comfortable fit. The ear cups fit well and it has plenty of padding so that shouldn't be a problem at all. If you are going wireless that one thing that will be on the top of your list is comfort. You don't want to have to adjust any set of headphones all the time so getting a good fit is very important to people. This one passes that without a problem at all. It's also very lightweight which is very important when you talk about wearing something for a very long time.

Now one thing I always worry about is sound quality especially when we talk about wireless headphones. The AW210 performed well with good sounds throughout the musical spectrum. I thought I would throw different types of music at it so to see how well it would do. In did better than I expected and the low to mid range sounds were excellent and the high range wasn't bad either. This set of headphones sound wise isn't too bad at all. One worry was that it couldn't handle a variety of music, but it quickly put that notion to rest for me. On the performance end the transmitter worked well and you can get away from it a good distance and it will still work. Just like anything wireless is subject to interference. It's just the nature of the beast. I really had no problem with that end of it though.

I have to give the Acoustic Research AW210 a very good reviewed as it performs well in all aspects and it's an affordable model. If you like going wireless than this could be the set of headphones for you. There really wasn't any really bad thing I noticed about it so you show have no trouble with this wireless headphone set. Add it to your collection and enjoy the benefits of going wireless throughout your home believe me it's a lot more fun than a cord hanging down your side.
