Noise isolating earphones seem to becoming more popular than ever before and the Acoustic Research ARE05 is a release that is interesting for a variety of different reasons. One of the first things is these are very inexpensive so that is a very good selling point for this set from them. The second point is can they transfer there other successes to the earphone market. Read further to discover if this model is something that you may want to consider or not.

Acoustic Research is an Audiovox owned brand so I expected a lot from this set of headphones and they did not disappoint me at all. Most of the time when you look at noise isolating headphones you will run into certain things you do not like about them. With this model, I could only find one thing and that was so minor, but I will mention it anyway. I was not fond of the earbud headphones being made out of plastic, but it really was not an issue so I had no problem with it. Let us look and see how well it performs, because in the end that is what most people will look at anyway. Performance is something people will judge a product by and for good reason because if it does not perform why buy the product anyway.

First up the fit was snug and good noise isolation quality does exist on this model that is for sure. Secondly, the thing I really like about this model, which I wish more companies, would concentrate on and that is the cord. The ARE05 offers a cord that measures four feet which is sufficient for portable applications and a Y to help prevent tangling which was a nice added touch from Acoustic Research. There also are six different types of ear tips three sizes in silicone and three sizes in compressible foam so getting a fit should not really be a problem at all. Getting the perfect fit is something that we all want as we never like having to reinsert earplugs into the ears as it can really become a big hassle. They also come with a case for storage during transport so that will not be a problem either. The noise isolation works well and you get this at a low-end price, which is something that I really enjoyed.

Sound quality is always something that people look at and with the ARE05, you will find some very good sounding ear buds. The bass is something that you will first notice right away. If you are a lover of bass sound than without a doubt this is a pair of headphones that you will want to take a real good look at. It has good mid ranges to high range sound and seems to work well with all different kinds of music. What is amazing to me is how well these do sound at all at a very affordable price to boot. Many people who first try these will like what they get that is for sure. Now you’re not going to get knock your socks off music performance, but for the money you will be very happy with what you do get. Quality sound at a good price with plenty of bass is what this set will do for you. Given that, the price is on the low end making it a very good buy indeed.

My overall impressions of this product are as follows the only drawback is the plastic ear buds which is something I do not like, but it does not take away from the ARE05 performance level one bit so do not worry about that. It has six fittings so you should have no problem getting a great custom fit, which is something many people worry about. The sound quality is very good and works well with all musical types. If you love lots of bass in your music than this is probably the set of headphones for you. Toss in a carrying case and 4 feet of cord than you have almost a perfect set of headphones. Acoustic research has done a very good job with this set of ear buds and the noise isolation quality is very good as well. These are a very good value for the money and should be on your list to purchase if you’re looking for a new set of ear buds in the future. Portable and great sounding is what these deliver and at a very affordable price, which is something, that is rare these days.
